The Leopard Coat and Oxblood
Fall is finally here! I was flipping through my InStyle magazine the other day and only a couple pages in I spotted an amazing shearling leopard print coat… Ralph Lauren Collection… when the company doesn’t list the price of something anywhere, it’s because it’s very expensive. I was able to track down the bomber version at nearly $6k. So basically, my next step was to get some ice cream and pout about it… ¬†a few more pages in, and voila! bebe saves the day. This coat isn’t exactly like the RLC one, but I love the large, exaggerated print, the luxe colors and the price tag. The fit is slightly more boxy and didn’t come with a tie for the waist like the Ralph Lauren one, but it’s not something a little tailoring can’t fix. Oh and did I mention that I’m club bebe, so I got $25 off ($25 off a purchase of $150 or more, or $50 off a purchase of $250 or more) Score!!!! (I’ll be wearing this a lot- you’ve been warned!)
Two more things to mention. One: These fabulous vintage gold Chanel earrings.. I won a giveaway held by Daily Cup of Couture, a $200 credit to online vintage shop Atelier-Mayer.com. I glanced through their inventory and suddenly stopped, these earrings were exactly 200…. euros.. I emailed the ladies at Atelier Mayer and they were happy to send them to me.¬†I paid for shipping, but they shipped on a friday and I got them monday.. so worth it. Fast service, beautiful packaging and quality vintage pieces. If you’ve rummaged through your local thrift stores one too many times and come up short, check out their site- the best part is that their inventory is always evolving. There is another amazing pair I am scoping¬†here…¬†I’m usually not much of a logo gal, but I think we can all make an exception for Chanel. (They are ear clips but I’m having them converted into studs, I’ll let you know how it goes.)
Lastly, I have to tell you the story about this clutch. I got it at Value Village for $14.99. I was obsessed with it the moment I saw it. I opened it up and all it said was “Made in Italy” just then a tiny square piece of paper fell out… ¬†I picked up the paper assuming it to be trash left from the previous owner, and flipped it over to see what it was. It was a tag with a small printed number reading¬†¬•58000 which translates to a little over $700 today. Yep. I basically have the right to assume this is the greatest thrift store find of all time. Even if it’s not actually the greatest thrifting find ever, it’s still amazing, right? Have you guys ever found an amazing item priced way lower than its worth? Please spill!
With love from Hollywood,
Kier
